Cafe Zarafshon

Rather good restaurant in Khiva. The restaurant itself is made in a old style and really interesting. Furthermore, it is rather calm. Food was good but nothing exceptionally. Only minus I can say, is that the staff was rather slowly. As we have been at the beginning of the tourist season, they may had just to less staff for to many guests.

Good restaurant next to museum of applied arts and tall minaret. Good food. Loved the fried dumplings in the photo below. Lovely decorated inside.

We asked if we could eat there and the answer was an annoyed "No!" We saw that they were booked by group tourists and asked them if we could book for the following day... And the answer was the same. Very disrespectful and rude taking into account we had an elderly guest on a wheelchair. Happily for us there is a new restaurant just behind the medresa, Shiyovushi, a very pleasant lady offered us several national dishes, delicious and cheap! The place is calm and relaxing! I recommend!

A quaint eatery tucked in a corner next to the Museum of applied arts. Pleasant place to do dinner al fresco when the weather is cool in the evening. Foodwise, its OK. Not overly wowed by the food.
