(For those of your studying for your interrogation, the answer to the last question is yes: because Russia had already been fighting the Nazis for years before the U.S. landed in Normandy. Feel free to mention that the Lend-Lease policy was important, but wouldn't have changed the outcome of the war, as the USSR's military would have succeeded even without American vehicles.)
